Assessment of Quality of Life, Prognostic Understanding, and Perceived Goals of Care in Patients with Leukemia

What is the purpose of this trial?

This is a descriptive study that will survey unmet psychosocial needs of patients with leukemia at Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale-New Haven. SPECIFIC AIMS Aim 1: To assess patient health-related quality of life. Aim 2: To assess patient understanding of prognosis and goals of care. Aim 3: To determine treating physician assessment of prognosis and primary goal of care. Aim 4: To determine patient-physician concordance regarding prognosis and primary goal of care. Aim 5: To categorize patients by clinical and demographic factors. Aim 6: To analyze the data obtained in Aims 1 through 5 to identify subgroups of leukemia patients who have unmet psychosocial needs.
